Hour Principles of Real Estate course satisfies the educational
requirement for a Virginia salesperson's license. Ours is a comprehensive,
up-to-date course which fully prepares you to take the state licensing
exam. Upon successful completion of this pre-licensing course,
Moseley-Flint will provide each student with a certified license
examination application which allows the student to register for
the state licensing exam.

Hour Principles of Real Estate courses are available for those
students who need additional credit hours. It is fully approved
and includes state laws and regulations, with a full review of
fair housing and agency laws.
Real
Estate Broker - HOMESTUDY

Must have successfully completed 180 hours of education approved
by the Real Estate Board ( 4 forty-five hour semester courses).

Courses - Real Estate Investment, GRI, Property Management,
Business Law, Real Estate Math, and other Board

Students may substitute ONE Related Course for any one of the Specific Courses.
- There are no substitutions for Brokerage. It is required.

Must have worked as an active licensed real estate salesperson
for 36 of the 48 months prior to application for a Virginia broker's
license. "Active" is defined as an average
of at least 40 hours per week.

Must have passed a state licensing examination within 12 months
prior to application.
Exam
Preparation
Moseley-Flint
offers exam preparation training to real estate salespersons and real
estate brokers. These courses are highly successful and designed with
just one purpose in mind - to ensure your success on the state exam!
Continuing
Education
CLASSROOM
and HOMESTUDY
Requires
16 hours of state registered classroom or homestudy education every
2 years. Moseley-Flint offers real estate CE in all of our permanent
locations at least once a month, and in many satellite locations as
well. In addition, our approved homestudy course which contains a comprehensive
review of all recent changes in the state law and regulations offers
you "the option" of completing your requirement
at your own pace on your own schedule.
Post License Education Requirements
For new agents licensed after December 31, 2003
1. Within each 30-hour curriculum, there are mandatory topics and elective
topics.
2. Practice tracks are selected by taking an approved mandatory course
within the practice track.
3. Elective hours may be completed from any practice track.
4. In accordance with the new law, new licensees completing the 30
hour requirement are not required to complete the 16 hours required
for other licensees.
5. The number of hours completed will not appear on the website until
after a mandatory course has been completed and reported to the Board.
6. If a licensee decides to change tracks after a mandatory course
has been reported to the Board, he must notify the Education Administrator
in writing, along with an original or notarized copy of the mandatory
course which will become the chosen track. A change will be accepted
only once and all previously reported mandatory courses will be changed
to electives. Changes cannot be accepted after the license expiration
date.
